Will the property prices slump affect rent prices in London this year?

I’m looking to move flat, but I’m renting at the moment (around £600 a month for a double room in a 2 bed) and will be going to another rented place of pretty much the same spec. Just wondering whether waiting until later in the year will be beneficial or if it will still be sky-high to rent a decent place.

I am 65 and want to sell my home and property now so my children will not have to deal with this later. I also want to give my children the money now as opposed as to when I am gone or if I ever have to go into a nursing home. I am on Medicare. How would this effect me now or later if I was in a nursing home? And would my children be taxed on this money?
