I recently heard a man interviewed who suggested that people should rent property now rather than buy, and that the idea of owning a house should be put aside in favor of inexpensive rental options, giving people the ability to save a larger portion of their income.

Is this a trend that people are following…or does this generation want to own homes? Is renting really less expensive? Are home owners slaves to their mortgages? What are the benefits of renting vs. buying? What do you believe?
